LiCON Restructures Management
and Drives International Expansion and GrowthFollowing its acquisition by Modig at the beginning of the year, LiCON is strategically realigning itself and consistently focusing on international growth, the development of new customer segments, the expansion of its technological expertise, and the targeted expansion of its workforce and capacities.
Since May 1, 2026, Christoph Czoske has been leading the mechanical engineering company based in Laupheim as its new managing director. He succeeds Winfried Benz, who left the company after 25 years.
Long-standing influence and strategic direction
Winfried Benz has significantly shaped LiCON over more than two decades as managing partner. Under his leadership, the company evolved from a supplier of rotary transfer machines into an internationally positioned specialist for modular machining centers. At the same time, the portfolio was strategically expanded to include process expertise, system solutions, and automation.
Key milestones include the company’s internationalization, the transformation toward highly flexible manufacturing solutions, and, most recently, the strategic expansion into the aerospace industry. In doing so, Benz laid the groundwork for LiCON’s diversification and future development.
Shareholders and employees express their sincere gratitude to him for his many years of dedication and his entrepreneurial foresight.

Continuity, operational depth, and international experience
“With Christoph Czoske, we are welcoming a managing director who has known LiCON for many years and has played a key role in shaping the company’s development,” says David Modig, Chairman of Modig Machine Tool. “He stands for continuity and operational strength, while also bringing the perspective needed to strategically advance LiCON as part of our group.”
Christoph Czoske (37) has been with the company since 2014 and has extensive experience across the entire value chain. After earning his Master of Engineering degree from the University of Ulm, he was responsible for project management, service and after-sales, as well as mechanical assembly. In addition, he led international customer projects for many years and played a key role in overseeing the locations in China and the U.S.
Most recently, as Director of Operations, he managed the entire project execution process, from the sales phase through implementation to service, and was thus responsible for key operational processes across the entire customer value chain.
Clear strategic focus and growth trajectory
In his new role, Czoske will focus in particular on driving international expansion, diversification across customer segments, the development of automation solutions, and the further refinement of customer-specific production concepts. At the same time, the targeted expansion of personnel and expertise will play a central role in securing the planned growth in the long term. LiCON remains committed to training skilled workers and engineers
“LiCON’s strength lies in our high level of expertise, our deep vertical integration, and a comprehensive understanding of processes,” explains Christoph Czoske. “Combined with our agility, our willingness to adapt, and a consistently modular product portfolio, this creates a powerful overall package for our customers. In a challenging market environment, expertise and trust are decisive. We bring both to the table, and this is how we will sustainably prevail against the competition.”
Strengthened for the next phase of development
Following its strategic realignment and integration into the group, LiCON is in a phase of development that is both stable and dynamic. Key growth drivers include the significantly increased utilization of existing engineering capacities within the group, the shared and flexible use of assembly capacities, and the targeted expansion of LiCON’s role as a manufacturing partner for machinery within the group.
At the same time, the company is consistently driving forward the diversification of its customer portfolio. In addition to new customers from Germany and abroad, long-standing, satisfied existing customers with recurring follow-up orders in particular form a solid basis for sustainable growth. The combination of technological expertise, group-wide collaboration, and a broad market presence strengthens LiCON’s position in the international marketplace and lays the foundation for further profitable growth.
